This\u00a0<i>zikr\u00a0<\/i>comes towards the end of a three-hour long ritual which they term\u00a0<i>kh\u00e4tm\u00e4\u00a0<\/i>which includes a series of group\u00a0<i>zikr<\/i>, solo recited passages from the Qur\u2019an, sung\u00a0<i>hikm\u00e4t<\/i>\u00a0poetry and a\u00a0<i>sama\u00a0<\/i>dance. The\u00a0<i>qushnach<\/i>\u00a0perform various rituals like this one, which usually take place in family homes, for different purposes related to healing and other spiritual benefits. The rituals are emotionally highly charged, and the\u00a0<i>qushnach<\/i>\u00a0say that the weeping and trancing which are provoked by the\u00a0<i>zikr<\/i>\u00a0are an important part of the ritual\u2019s efficacy. This recording forms part of a ritual which is performed during the festival of Barat, the \u2018Night of Forgiveness\u2019.
